Student Bunker Program

The Cortlandville Fire District runs a Student Bunker Program in conjunction with students attending TC3 or SUNY Cortland. Students participating in the Bunker Program reside within the Fire Station and are required to perform specified station duties as well as answer both fire and EMS alarms. Housing is provided in exchange for volunteering with the Cortlandville Fire District and providing services as outlined in the Student Bunker Contract.

Some Basic Requirements:

1.) Must be a member, in good standing, of a fire department within New York State.
2.) Must have Firefighter 1 training prior to becoming a Bunker.
3.) Must attend required training’s as specified by CVFD.
4.) Must perform all duties as specified on Student Bunker Contract.
5.) Must submit $150.00 administrative fee and security deposit for damages.
